Real Caveman Eat Quiche! Urg!
New recipe for today’s Caveman
OK, by now you know me, if it has more than 3 ingredients and take’s more than 15 minutes I didn’t cook it. I’m sorry but if I find a recipe that has 10 ingredients, of which are 1 tbs of this, 1 tsp of that, 1/2 a tsp, 2 ounces of such and such I am lost! Urg!
So here’s today recipe:
Shrimp and Zucchini Quiche Au Gratin
1- Take 3 zucchinis, cut them in two, and then slice them again in 2 halfs, like little boats. Then take a large pan with a bit of olive oil (or coconut oil) and lay all of them inside and roast them on both sides.
2- When done, break off some cauliflower heads and lay on top of them. Take some frozen shrimps, again on top, and lastly slice some tomatos and add another layer. At this point add some water and put on a cover on the pan, simmer. The water in the pan will steam the cauliflowers, defrost the shrimps and the tomato juices will blend with everything. Add whatever spices you feel for, I’m always partial for oregano and basilic!
3- Take some eggs (I took three large ones) add a bit of water and a bit of whatever milk you use (soy is banned in this household, Raw Milk is illegal in Canada, so I end up using almond milk, although I could use coconut milk). Mix it all up then pour in the pan without stirring, always on a very low fire.
4- Here’s the piece de resistance! Add some strong cheese on top and put the pan in the oven 5 minutes before serving to make it Au Gratin! I didn’t have goat cheese but I guess it would have been very good here, I find cauliflower and goat cheese mix well together. Here’s the pic!
Serve nice and hot to a happy family, and a little girl who just finished her first weeks of kindergarden, take a glass of red wine for yourself and kiss your wife!
