Mussels for muscles!!!! a Great and Easy Recipe!
Mussels are so easy to make! The only hard part is finding a good source and make the habit of buying them.
Luckily, I can buy them at my fish market, or even in my superfood store.
Also with mussels there is no one recipe to use, you can use as many or as few ingredient as you want, and you can even do them with cream, beer or wine!.
So let’s get down to business!
1- Once you buy your mussels just put them in a large bowl with cold water and rinse a few time. Leave it for 15 minutes and then look inside if there is any sand or broken shells. Discard any mussels that are not closed shut, it means they are no longer alive. A healthy mussel will close tightly on itself, no intruders allowed!
2- After having rinsed them one more time fill the pan halfway with water and just add spices and herb to your fancy! I’m mostly herbs and tomatos. Can you see what else I’ve added?
3- Cooking time is about 15 minutes, just look for the mussels being open. This time, as you eat them, any mussel that hasn’t opened up was not alive and should be discarded.
Since Paleo is lowcarb we don’t serve it with rice, but lots of veggies! That’s it! It’s no more complicated then that, and soooo tasty!!!
